Start making your plans to attend attend the 48
th SSSAAP Conference, to be held at the El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort in Tucson, Arizona. SES is very excited to offer a conference location in the West again!


The conference format will include technical presentations and will also allow for multiple opportunities for attendees to have meaningful discussions with people from all aspects of the air emission testing industry. This conference offers a unique opportunity to interact with emissions measurement professionals as well as representatives from industrial source operations, regulatory agencies, and consulting, engineering, laboratory firms, vendors, etc. all within a highly interactive setting. The conference also offers recreational activities to renew spirit and camaraderie and enhance relationships.

There will be a total of ten technical sessions plus poster sessions. Sessions will focus on emerging issues resulting from complex interactions between regulatory developments, evolving testing and measurement technologies, changing needs of industrial source operators, field and laboratory problem-solving, data management, and data quality objectives. The agenda for the conference will be comprehensive and designed to support and foster, participation, interaction, and above all communication.

The Call for Abstracts will be issued later this summer.

Registration Opening date is planned for Monday, October 19th, 2026. This conference usually sells out to its maximum capacity in less than eight weeks. Since Tucson was extremely popular last time (2018), we expect an increased attendance.

Hotel Information

Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the El Conquistador Tucson is close to the Saguaro National Park and some of the top hiking spots in Tucson. Spanning 50 acres, the resort features a spa, tennis courts, outdoor pools, a waterslide, and several dining options. Visit the championship El Conquistador golf course, a short drive away.

Dining:

  • Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails is the resort's signature restaurant which takes inspiration from the Southwestern United States and Mexico, and offers views of Pusch Ridge as it changes colors every evening
  • The Sundance Cafe is an indoor-outdoor breakfast cafe which offers a healthy start or something on the lighter side.
  • The Desert Springs Bar & Grill is poolside and serves snacks, sandwiches, and refreshing drinks.
  • The Colibri Lounge is near the lobby and offers mountain peak views and is a cozy place to relax after a full day of conference activities. Gather around the mesquite bar for live entertainment and light American fare

Pools: Explore the resort's seven sparkling pools to splash pad, waterslide and more through to scenic adults-only pools. The main pool is heated to 82 degrees F for year-round enjoyment. Open from 7 am to 10 pm. The 143-foot rock water slide is open from 9 am to 6 pm. There is a hot tub (102-104 degrees F) and a cold plunge pool (55-77 degrees F) open from 7 am to 10 pm. The Acacia Pool is limited to guests over 18 years old and is ideal for leisurely swims or invigorating laps. Open from 7 am to 10 pm.


SpaWell Spa: The resort features a full-service spa and movement studio. It features a salt therapy lounge and the SpaWell adults-only pool (appointment only).

Fitness Center: The resort's fitness center includes cardio and weight equipment and a Peloton bike. The movement studio offers weekly yoga, stretching, and meditation classes. Open 5 am to midnight.

Golf: Golf a 9-hole course, putting green, and driving range next to the resort. There are two 18-hole courses five miles away. Visit the golf website for more information.

Desert Hiking: Explore miles of high-desert landscape through Linda Vista Trail and a variety of Oro Valley trails. Paradise for nature lovers, Tucson offers a range of paths and loops, sometimes paved with rock steps.

Bike Paths: Rent a bike to explore the resort, from one end to the other. Bring your own bike to ride over 30 miles of marked bike paths around Oro Valley and the Sonoran Desert.


Parking:
On-site parking is complimentary. Valet parking is available at a rate of $15/day. There is a Tesla EV charging station about 10-15 minutes from the hotel and an EV charging station at the La Encantada shopping center. 

Airport: the El Conquistador Tucson Resort is located 23 miles (36.3 km) from the Tucson International Airport, (TUS). The list of airlines that service TUS can be found here List of Airlines. Uber and Lyft rides usually run between $40-60, depending on demand.
